Put Together a Site Plan

Web sites do many different things: sell products or services, promote ideas, persuade visitors to a point of view, provide humanitarian services etc. However, there is NO site which successfully does ALL of these things at the same time! A good site must have focus.

Write down a web site plan as early as possible which considers each of the following:

•	Prioritized, who am I trying to reach?
•	Prioritized, what am I trying to accomplish?
•	Who are my competitors? Do they have web sites?
•	Are there any web sites I like? Why?
•	Do I have any special requirements or limitations for the site designer?
•	Are there specific features I would like to see?

Answer these questions and you will have the elements of an excellent foundation for your site.
